SALEM WOODS CIVIC ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING
1/7/09

The Board Meeting of the Salem Woods Civic Association was called to
order at 7:05 p.m. by Heidi Rosen and our new President, Kirk Traber with
the following board members present: Sarah Ezell, Wayne Barnett, Pete
Leavitt, Dustin Sievers, Heidi Rosen, Scott Kittell, our new Vice President,
and Kirk Traber. The following SWCA members were also present: Kathy
Toll.

The minutes were read and Heidi moved that the minutes from the last
meeting be approved. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.

Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.

New Business:

President: Kirk Traber discussed concerns and goals for our neighborhood
for 2009. Security is a big issue. Scott Kittell will be spearheading the
Neighborhood Watch program. Volunteers are needed. We need to do more
fundraising to raise money to support SWCA. Possible fundraising ideas
included painting numbers on curbs for residents at a nominal fee of say $20
and holding graduation pool parties for schools with an entrance fee instead
of volunteering the pool (i.e. the Rosemont Forest Elementary uses the pool
for a party for free each summer). Another idea is to help residents replace
worn mailboxes for a nominal fee; maybe the Boy Scouts could help with
this, and then donate the money to SWCA.

Webmaster: Dustin Sievers will be changing our current Website over to his
own server.

Vice President and Neighborhood Watch: Scott Kittell will be working on
the Neighborhood Watch program. Kathy, Barry and Pete will send him the
information on this program, a section list, and the volunteer list to start the
program up.

Recreation/Spirit: Sarah Ezell said the Christmas party for the kids went
very well. Belinda Traber did a great job taking pictures of the children with
Santa Claus. The next event will be the Easter egg hunt. We will ask for
candy donations.
